Take it easy... This is just for humour, to have fun at these times.
No green card for you. Just work well for 6 years, enjoy life in US, enjoy sports cars by renting, not by buying, rent a big house, have a lawn and garden in back yard, grow your own vegetables. Have nice vacations like Hawaii, Jamaican islands, Vegas, Porto Rico etc.,Have fun in life. Do not go for green card. After 6 years, get nice job in India,own apartment near to office and ask your parents to live with you. Take kids to school . Have fun with them. Try to become director, AVP,VP,SVP,CEO,CTO and President. Do not go for green card. After you become director, buy a single family home and mercedez or BMW and have fun. Completely agree with you here. Puts the quest for GC in perspective. Understand that everyone's situation is different, but is it really worth it to put your life on hold, that too based on the whims of USCIS?!? Just a thought. 10 years ago, the standard of living gap between India and US was so large, it made perfect sense. The gap isnt that huge any more. For some of us stuck in EB3, it could mean another 5-10 years wait. By then the gap would have closed some more. So looking back at that point in time will the sacrifices be worth it? Once again, there is no right or wrong answer, but just cant help wondering.

How can an IO be ignorant of the infamous july fiasco ?
good idea...IV should write this to Ombudsman.
We should also get a survey/feedback form from the IO for AOS interviews, POE etc so we can send the feedback to USCIS. The form should include date, time , IO name etc and survey questions...Only then USCIS can improve their service.

Is IV only for those who have filed I485?
I gave my opinion and people gave me lot of reds. There is a majority here who already have EAD and have filed I485. You people do not care for those who are less fortunate and struggling in the early stages of the process. If July 07 had not happened, all of you would be asking for I485 filing option today.
By giving reds to people who disagree you will drive people away and make IV only for those who have filed I485 and not for the entire EB immigration people.

Dream on about porting from Eb3 to EB2. On an average it is taking more 9 months to get labor clearence that too if it is eb3. if you are trying eb2 that is almost a definite audit. We have a case in our company which was stuck in audit (eb2) for more than an year now. our company and attorney are no longer filing eb2 (offcourse it is a different matter than they are no longer filing any green card application because of layoffs). So unless you are working for a desi "con"sultant company not many american companies (almosy none) are filing eb3 green card perm applications leave alone eb3 to eb2 conversions. Even desi companies are scared shit because USCIS is knocking the living daylights out of them. Even desi companies are scared of filing eb3 green card perm applications leave alone eb2. So good luck with your eb3 to eb2 dream.

I am confused now!:D
I thought that with the Sept 2009 bulletin ( PD shifted to 01 Jan 2005 for EB2 India), my PD is current!
Am I missing something?

Of course Fred. Your PD will be current in next month September. So, they should be approving cases from Sept. 1 and not now.

We have known Rosa Park personally and she was a speaker at one of our meetings and let me tell you none of you are close to what she was.
It looks like you are planning to go to DC. There is big difference between planning and execution. You folks are theoritical and not practical. This time the bus will be empty. You just don't have it in you. Take it from me.
BTW it's Parks not Park. Of course she was a great lady. If any one of us are close to her, no one really knows. Not ever you. Maybe we will get a "Rosa Parks" in this rally. If that happens you will write:

Lawsuits and fighting is against IVs core principles. IV is a support network for us who want to positively work for a cause by lobbbying, awareness, bringing people together so that our voices are collectively heard.
If you do not want to do what IV does, you can open your own website and do what you want - you can gather people who think like you and you can proceed with your agenda

The fact that theres no one in entire IV that supports ur argument should put some sense into you abt this issue.

As you know cap reached on 30thApril for Masters, can we assume applications that reached on Sat and Sunday(28th,29th)non working(non business) days are safe? or will the be considered to be reached on Monday and hence come under lottory?

Since AILA has also taken interest into a proposal like this Don't you think we should engage them in planning the next strategy.

It would be difficult to combine both the proposals. The combination would mean that everyone would enjoy the benefits of being allowed to continue living and working in the country with no annual limit. Which basically means no control of immigrants.
I am not in anyway opposing this. But we need to look at it based on how the decision makers are going to perceive it.
I feel what is being proposed by 'realizeit' is realistic and will not hamper the annual limits. It would be good if someone has contacts with the AILA and can persue the matter as a coalition effort.

Is it so difficult to make you adults understand that the thurst we need year would be the biggest...do you want the tech lobbyist to increase only H1B's (remember they have lot of money). Guys we will lost in the crowd if don't prepare ourselves for the forthcoming face offs next year. We are closing in on the traget, but only thing which can make it happen is more members and more money.

Here is another case:
My minor daughter's Last name was missing in her passport but all her immigration documents (I-94/H4/AOS- r. n/ EAD/SSN, yes she got ead for ssn but never used it till date) somehow had her first name + LAST NAME. We initially ignored her missing last name in the passport but during her AOS finger priniting, asc guy noticed missing last name, made a noting in their system as "LNU" and advised us to get it fixed. We went to Indian consulate, Chicago and got the last name entered in passport, after due paper formalities.
My question to you guys is: Do we need to do anything else with respect to her AOS as all her uscis documents including I-94/H4/EAD/ssn, are already wth first name + last name ?
Any suggestions on this sitution will be appreciated !

This is the most sensible idea in a long time. And I agree with keeping it low profile. This would also give a reality for the Govt as to how many actual cases that are pending if in future they wanna do something with an actual law to really help out.
