Hi friends,
No doubt this is a great idea and also as newbie2020 suggests no point of wasting time and loosing the current tempo and massive support of IV members on this regard.
Would like to request all, is it possible to change the bridge schedule a bit to 9.00 or 9.30 PM EST so that it would be easier to participate for people who are in Pacific Time Zone? If most people have difficulty in doing that, lets move forward with the current schedule.
Please update.....

Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do… One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. The current and future economic clout of this community as well as its contribution to the economic infrastructure far exceeds the numbers. The point is this community has skills that are in demand, here, in Canada in the UK and elsewhere. Only narrow minded bigots like you can't understand that. Fortunately you and your ilk is in a minority in this much more enlightened country.

Your PD is not yet current.
If they have issued GC to you, it was a mistake and you should report it to USCIS to avoid future problems.
There were several discussions on this forum about this issue.

I thought with PD of 2004 by now you should be well aware of how Visa bulletins work. :confused:

So for July 2nd filers, there notice date would be September 2007. But they all got GC last yr when they made it current till 2006 PD. However processing times arent Sept 2007 even now which makes me believe its the receipt date?

1/1/2001 - Enter USA with H1B from Company A
1/30/2001 - Offer letter from Company B (No pay checks from Company A)
2/9/2001 - Started working for Client via Company B (Got Pay checks from Company B)

How can there be RD/NDs of 2008 as far as I remember only 15 or 30 days of July were open for filing I-485 after that dates had retrogressed......

My wife too is in exactly the same problem. I am also looking for an answer to this. let me know if anybody went thru the 485 stage without any issues with this
I have a similar problem. In all my documents i just have one name as given name from childhood no surname or initials.
In passport given name is : XXX
And surname is : blank
In my H4 stamping they made it
Given name : FNU (First name unknow)
Last Name : XXX
So in my medical record and I-94, I-797 in US i use FNU XXX. I am planning to apply with this name itself as i feel it may take a while and is not safe to go to indain embassy and have a name change with this short time.
I plan to have my husbands name as my last name later.
Can i do it after filing for 485 or getting GC. Do reply.

He wrongly assumes that till EB3-ROW becomes current EB2 & EB3-India will not see any movement. He thinks no one knows the rules, laws ect..and he is only one knows everything. The actual fact is most peoples have been doing research on retrogression like him last two years and not having enough time to reply his post. To fuel his openion DOS is violating the section 202 of INA and no one cares about this including IV core team.

I know you guys have been doing a great job. I joined around july last year and have been a regular visitor to your site. Actually, I was just active on the thread that GCStatus has started. I dont think he ever used derogatory statements against any of the admin. Infact, he has posted for a help from admin on more than 4 occassions with out any proper response. Actually, If you look at this thread, it was some one else who had commented admins are on vacation and will not be back until july 2009. It was not GCStatus who said that. He just replied to that . He had no clue about what you guys are up to. So let us stop this leadership fight. Now that, you have clearly told you cannot hardwire that thread on the front page. Well, we cant do much about it now, since we are at your help here. If you think, GCStatus has said any thing bad about you, please can you post it, because i did not find any comments about admin.

Do you want me to post them here? Now lets get back to "ownership" and "rudeness" debate because it always turns out that way. You can say anything and if Admin responds, all of a sudden Admin is showing attitude, Admin is rude, freedom of speech, Ist amendment, Admins is dictators, Admins are like Hitler etc etc . Nothing new, we have seen this story repeat countless times.
And one more thing, you are busy and others have all the free time in the world. Is that right?
We never received any email from you. I think you mean 4-5 posts. We did not believe that there was merit in responding to your posts. There is only so much time in a day. We can not practically respond to most of the posts, even if we want. But as I mentioned earlier, not responding to a post doesn't give you license to be rude and then later call it a joke. Its not funny because we take this effort very seriously. Our information is in public domain and we are very much reachable. Whereas you have put in bogus information in your profile and we think that using anonymous handle, you are attacking this effort. With this effort we have developed think skin because we have heard a lot of times from naysayers. But sometimes, like today, we do feel the need to respond to needless attacks/nagging/poking.

this is my first post...
I've seen most of you guys are indians, I admire you for being so organized and brave, and also for getting skilled enough to be sucessfull anywhere.
I'm not in the IT business, I'm not indian, I don't have special skills nor advanced dregrees. I'm just a regular guy who has worked all his life to achieve what he got. Since my degree is a 3 years old, I did not qualify foe EB2 even being in a managerial position for over 10 years.
I was waiting for the opportunity to file my family's I485 and then my company was bought and I was laid off on jun 14th.
I've been 6 years in this country, I have 2 american born kids, I've paid a lot of taxes, I have a house mortgage, a car loan...
Now I'm out of status and worst of all, everything on the GC process is lost.
I don't think it's fair, I've never done anything illegal, but I'm not ready to leave the country. I need to sell my property, don't know what to do with the car, my wife is on her MBA thesis, I just can't leave.
I'm telling all this not because I want you to feel sorry, but to create awareness that it's NOT on your hands being legal or illegal. You're in others hands: your employer, USCIS, the adjudicator officer.
So don't judge others just because you have been lucky enough to maintain your status...

I am really sorry about your situation. While, it is true that there is a lot under USCIS' adjudicator's control, we need to give it our best try and exhaust our options before we give up. I think that being Indian, IT and skilled (I am all 3 !) does not have that much of a bearing on one's life situations and connection to green card being approved. Case in point : I went through a rough time myself (see beginning of the thread) and even paid the price (divorce, heartbroken) for taking a chance. However, everyones situation is unique.
If you can post details of your case, then someone from here is sure to be able to give you some guidance. One last piece of advice, there is no substitute for a damn good lawyer who can get you the results. It might not come cheap though. There are instances of people having accrued unlawful stays beyond 1 year and lawyers having gotten them their EB based green cards later through CP using tricks such as waivers etc.

Since we are not there we can't know the whole process, but it is true that there is always some logic when it appears to be random. We just don't know that. And that logic is not always fair, as is the case in visa distributions.
Published processing dates can mean anything between two extremes (i) Everything filed before published date has been processed, (ii) Nothing after the published date has been processed. Most likely it is close to (i). Thus, if published processing date is Aug 30 '07, it does not mean that they have not looked at any case filed after this date. I believe cases are distributed in lots, not one at a time. And if someone takes his/her lot of 1000 cases for processing, and then goes on vacation for 30 days - the lot just waits at his/her desk. Therefore, even if published date is Aug 30'07, it is quite probable that Sept/Oct'07 cases, even later cases, may have been seen. Also, note that published dates are as of June 30, not current.
We don't know the whole story,but are trying to find some logic in what goes on. So, positive view is that if you will be Current in Sept hope for the best.

I believe cases are distributed in lots, not one at a time. And if someone takes his/her lot of 1000 cases for processing, and then goes on vacation for 30 days - the lot just waits at his/her desk. Therefore, even if published date is Aug 30'07, it is quite probable that Sept/Oct'07 cases, even later cases, may have been seen. Also, note that published dates are as of June 30, not current.
We don't know the whole story,but are trying to find some logic in what goes on. So, positive view is that if you will be Current in Sept hope for the best.

But he also mentioned that you had not started your GC process. The reporter wanted to speak to someone who is already in the process and affected by it.
