I have given my phone number several times, even you can have it ( 412 915 9526 ) but the admin is not willing to call me. I believe GCStatus has sent his phone number too. I have been a member here since July 2007, based on the GCStatus credentials, he has created his ID just a month or so. Why would I all of a sudden fake my ID when I have such a good reputation in this site. You can visit all my posts.
I hope you got convinced. If yes, please talk to our super Admin.

Join the DC Rally on Sept 18th.
with Presidential elections next year and new govt after that, there
is a greater chance that the legislative reform can happen only now
or after long time, may be like after 3 years. So act now or be
prepared to be in limbo for years ahead.
It is very important that we attened the rally and get ourselves out
of the probationary status that we are in. Probationary status both
in career and family life. The GC wait time could be 10
years if you have a PD of jan 2005 or later. Currently it looks like
we would be in this GC limbo for several more years unless we ACT NOW.
Imagine yourself living with the EAD/AP renewal, cannot really in all
trueness be able to work for and work on what you really want and
what your true potential is. Its just so nightmarish aaggghhh soooo
depressing... to remain in the same job designation and same
salary years ahead... for any person with self-esteem and self-
respect...
Lets get our Life back.
Are you not tired of this probationary life ? if you are tired of
AP/EAD renewals , If you have filed your 485 after 2-3 years of
wait , If you are stuck in FBI name check , if you are tired of

Ok, i had the same problem.
Surname: blank
Given Name: First Last.
But in all US documents had it correctly distinguished. Recently when i renewed my passport i got it fixed at NY. You DO NOT NEED a news paper ad for this kind of change. I went to NY Indian consulate personally to ask this question as no one was lifting the phone. The person over there gave me a special form to fill it out and get it notarized. I did all of that and they printed the name correctly. Another guy had same problem, he did not even filled out that form, but they corrected his name as well. I was surprised how lenient these guys are.
Me and the other guy were joking on the way back in train because they did it for him without the special application, its like they don't care what name you have, " do you want Tom Cruise, i will write Tom Cruise - no problem at all, or even better, we will give you passports with empty name column, you fill it up with whatever you want :) "
Don't worry guys, this change is easy and this does not impact 485 as well, as long as you have always reported your correct name in your other USCIS documents. THEY KNOW that internationals have their names goofed up in their passports. Its not new for them.

Finally got the email today, Aug 13, 2009, from USCIS indicating that the card production has been ordered for me. No word yet about my wife's GC. Case still pending.

India, EB2 - Priority date April 14, 2004
Texas Service Center.
Short of divulging my social security number, I will be happy to answer any and all questions about my journey so far.

Only 9% away from my first $500 contribution as part of the pledge..... this forum is so slow.... I thought that by today noon I have to shell out $500...but doesn't looks the case...

Some of the members are so used to "short cuts" in their life. They hope they can get their GC tomorrow by pulling down another one in the queue. They are not willing to come in terms with the reality that retrogression is due to insufficient visa numbers and country cap.

Let me add my observations here:
For people who doubt where all the money is going, remember Aman founded this organization putting his own money into this ( not in hundreds but thousands). He and some other core members has already got their green cards, but they continue to work for this cause. I also remember Aman and core members saying this "It is not about you. It is about the community. You just don't think about yourself, you work for everyone." Most of the talk points for meetings were meant for relief to the entire community, not a specific group.
For me, I had to go for a meeting alone. Initially I was disappointed, but I could handle that meeting very well, thanks to IVs training session. For those who are apprehensive about attending these meetings -- It is pretty straightforward if we follow IVs talking points and presentation style. We cover ourselves well with arguments and counter arguments during training session.
As for meeting lawmakers, it will always be a pleasant experience. This is the greatest democracy on the face of the earth. Lawmakers will lend a patient, listening ears to your issues. No worries there. Also fixes to our issues will benefit not only us, it will help this country in the long run. If you haven't met your lawmaker yet, please plan meeting them and let them know your pains. A meeting from a constituent is very valuable for these lawmakers.
A request to IV core:
It is better if IV could conduct the training in different state chapters, so that people will feel more confident and less apprehensive in meeting their lawmakers.

What u are saying would be true if people are sending envelopes with a 33cent stamp on it

With all of the anthrax scares going on I'd be very surprised if they even allowed the flowers to be delivered to the building (especially if they are accompanied with get well soon cards). You may want to make sure that the flowers are being signed for and delivered before you send any more.

and see from which IP Address, GC status is sending those messages. Find out the location from where he is sending messages. Dont spread false news.
