On March 30 I had a soft LUD on my 485 and then on Apr9 my attorney recd an RFE.in my case the RFE went only to the attorney.
Hi all,
Due to system glitches, cud a soft LUD mean that it cud still have triggered an RFE to the attorney?
Also, when therez an RFE will the mail just go to the attny or to the applicant as well (if the applicant has signed G-28)?
Bottomline, is it a good idea to check with the attny if there were any RFEs?

I called the local senator's office (Maryland) and they couldn't give me a response. They claim that they don't have access to the information on a bill status if it is a federal bill. But if I call the representatives from California, the office asked me to call my local representative for information on bill status!
The only house bill with a Senate version is HR 6039 (26 co sponsors). However the corresponding senate version S.3084 only has 2 co sponsors.

The stats you are refering to are total I485s. They include FB, Asylum etc. You are missing our China friends. They may have atleast 100K apps pending.

It is very difficult to make a prediction...The 7% country quota for china is satisfied already...So it could be this october
The only chance that it happens is that visa overflow from other categories into EB2China/India...For that to happen..Eb3 world has to become current.....
That would mean that more visa are available than can be used for Rest of world...Then CHINA/India would get some more than 7% country quota....
So it could be Oct 07 or if you are lucky... earlier....
If immigration reform happens..you would definately become current immedialtely...

How did you send an email to TSC streamline? My case is at TSC and we are half done...primary approved and dependent pending...told biometrics issue by lawyer thru AILA but as far as these forums go biometrics don't hold an approval otherwise I won't have been approved. i guess we carry the curse of transfered cases...mine was TSC-CSC-TSC

Tony, I didn't grow up in India. I am oblivious to its education ways. That said, some of the comments expressed here, is not the way to talk to anyone with an education, no matter what school they graduated. Anyway, I'm done here.
Thats cool. I'm sure no one wanted to attack this member directly, but there is a reason why people jumped on the 3 year degree, especially since this is commerce, for a technology job.
I have worked with europeans with 3 year degrees. Many Russians love the BSc physics
3 year degrees are popular and the first choice in many ROW countries (only). I'll leave it at that.
But I have been involved in hiring for quite a few of the top 10 companies in India, and I do know what qualifications they look for and ones they don't look at.
There are exceptions like bugsbunny mentioned - There are some who come from poor families that can't afford the 4 year degree, even at $100-200 a year.
They are too few Ivy league/reputed 3 year degrees in India, unless the field is arts, Law, economics,...
If you don't qualify in the top 5%, you have to shell out $1000-$2000 a year for engineering degree.

I think this is great idea EB3_NEPA. We need to work on this!!! A good interim solution. That way we can actually show the contribution that we can make to the society as a family. Does anyone have an idea where we can start?
How about sending letters to our representatives and then contacting the media on the plight of our spouses rather than on us!!! May be the human rights folks can help us on this.
can the H4 not apply for a new H1B? Is H4 barred from applying for H1B? If not, I don't see where the prob lies. plus how will this solve the retrogression issue?

For me I have to renew H-1 visa every year wich will be same as EAD/AP. Each time I would go for H-1 visa I will be stuck for security clearance making me stay outside US without work for unknown number of months which is the worst experience that can happen to anyone not the grey area of AOS.
But to get EAD/AP I do not need to step outside US neither do I need to wait for security clearance and I hope to travel home when I want.
So to me EAD/AP is better than H-1visa.
If I get EAD/AP can I go for H-1 stamping?

u can keep renewing your H-1 as long as your 485 has been pending for more then 180 days.(someone corect me if i am wrong).Once u get ure recipt number ure status changes to "485 pending" and can be on h-1 as long as ure GC is approved.No matter when u get married your wife will not be out of status-so its a good decision that u applied.

Ok here is my experience,
had a hard LUD and received RFE for 325A and birth certificates,
Replied to RFE - USCIS received the mail on the 8th, same day in the evening, received a hard LUD saying, RFE response received and is under process.
Till today, I have been seeing soft LUD on our case, I dont know what is going on !!!

I am kind of curious about onething - why is IV core is not saying anything about current house committee deliberations? - did I miss some posts. I am not trying to criticize or anything but just trying to understand if we are getting excited about something which is destined to fail already (I made all the calls and also personally made 5 others to make calls yesterday). If its a strategy not to discuss too much its fine with me - hope there is still a fair chance for 5882.

Generally there are lots of people getting affected. But there is no one to lead the fight. I am sure once we start people will come and join. I am in the process of contacting the attorneys and consulting companies to fight together. I am also hoping for IV core to come forward and give us direction on this. I am ready to lead and fight. Are you ready to join me. We ARE FIGHTING FOR US.

Ok, if advertising is too far-fetched, then hold some cultural events and make money on those. Brainstorm with members to find other ways to make money.
Organizing cultural events does sound like a good idea, but again the problem is "organizing". I volunteered in a few cultural event organizations and know that its hardwork and need many volunteers even in a small city (especially if its a fund-raising type). My understanding is state chapters are crying for members, if state chapters have enough volunteers it would be a good idea.
I think there were many brainstorming discussions on fund raising earlier on these forums. The problem with these anonymous forums are that anyone can give a suggestion and then do nothing about it (I am guilty of the same sometimes). Thats why I liked the idea of state chapters where members know each other and may be able to motivate each other to volunteer some time/money/etc.
